Pitching for money is horrible when you’re ‘not in the club’, or ‘don’t have a track record’.

Here’s an odd way to make it more bearable — make the goal the number of responses.

Not the number of yeses. The number of responses.

Like any conversion funnel, the more you pour in the top the higher the number out the other side.

Simple maths. Bill gates’ got c. 25% responses , 3% seriously interested and 1% Invested. Those numbers are about right. It makes every ‘no’ more ok. It’s simply another step closer…
